  • FCP can’t LogAndTransfer my Red-Epic footage

    Hi,

I’m using FCP7, installing latest Red software/fcs3 plugin,
shot footage by Red Epic with 4K and 2K.

I worked with Red-one MX with FCP before, it was fine.

Now I’m trying to transcode the footage to prores, but fcp cannot recognize my epic footage,
what happened? what can i do?

I can use Redcine-X to do that, though, it takes forever.

    Please help!!!!!!thanks!

    Hi

I am pretty sure that the Epic is not compatible with the Log and Transfer tool.

I believe that it does not create proxy files like a Red One and that Redcine X is the only answer at the moment.

You can accelerate process that with a Red Rocket card but sadly they dont come cheap.

I think you can make proxies in Redcine but have not tried that so cant advise if that would be quicker than just using Redcine alone.

    best wishes

Just replying that I’ve found simply solution.

*used Adobe media encoder to transcode all R3D to 640×360 prores proxy, edit with Premiere, and link to R3D files when finish.

And I’ll then import to Aftereffect to apply effects/color correction.
    That’s works for me~
