    HI, I have just bought a new iMac (2.5GHz Intel Core i5 with 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ram) and installed Final Cut studio 2 on it. Everything works good except for Final Cut. When I launch it the whole monitor goes black. If I press the command key + Q, I will have the desktop again. Can this problem be fixed?

    Try to install all available system and pro application updates from apple to see how it’ll play out.

    Thanks for your response. I tried all that but still did not work. However it turned out to be that FCP was in full screen mode and since I did not have anything in it I was seeing all black. The escape button solved the problem. Thanks again.
