Did anybody noticed a problem with video playback – especially fast-forwarding using JKL at double or more speed – and using a Wacom tablet?
I noticed that while JKLing and holding the pen close to the tablet, the video is erratic and stuttering. keeping my pen far enough from the tablet seems to solve this, but is there something else that can be done to eliminate this?

    I’m using a dual 2.3Ghz G5 with 2.5GB RAM, OS X 10.4.3, fcp 5.0.4, and Wacom graphire 4×5

I have never had this experience. Currently I my setup is two Dual-2.0 G5s, one with FCP 4.5 the other with 5.0.3. I have an Intuous 3, it controls both computers via a Griffin KVM switch. I’ve never had a problem between Wacom and FCP.

The pen needs to be completely still, preferebly out of your hands. This also applies to the mouse. Any movement will cause scrubbing to stutter.

This problem began with FCP 5.

Hah! (I knew I wasn’t imagining this), thanks.
Can’t imagine having to put down the pen every time I’m scrubbing. I’ll probably keep moving my pen just slightly out of reach of the tablet, though I will expect apple people to solve this soon. Do you know if this is a known issue at apple or not?

    Hi
I as well can confirm your observation. I’m still on G4 DP1.4 and same problem here.
I made it a habit now to move my arm (holding on to the pen) of the tablet.
Bit annoying but actually gives you some exercise too…
Anyway I don’t know if Apple is aware of it, but I sure hope so as I could live without this problem quite happily
    Cheers
