FCP and the new JVC-100U work-flow
I’m thinking about buying the new 720P HD JVC camera. But I want to know if there is a built in codex in the FCP 5.1 and if not what is the work flow to make this thing work?
Is it true that HDV and the JVC 720 will not work together in the same timeline?

The JVC is HDV. It’s just a different version, based on 720p rather than 1080i. Mixing different formats of HDV is the same as mixing any 2 (or more) codecs in FCP. It means that you need to pick one & render.
