FCP and the Canon T2i
Just the other day I shot with my schools’ T2i for the first time and then dumped the files on my external hard drive. I’m now home and have all the original .mov and .thm files and I’m working with FCP 7. I followed this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTgkabulsYU) which seems to be helping everyone else out but I’m still getting the “unsupported media” prompt. Please help. My project is due Monday and I have a busy weekend. Thanks.

There are a myriad of things that can go wrong when copying the contents of memory cards that can make Log & transfer balk. Since you have a deadline, you can simply use Compressor or Streamclip to transcode to ProRes, then just edit away.

1. The SD card file structure needs to be complete

Shane is right, you need the Hack….plus, the files have to be in the same file structure as they where originally on the card or FCP wont find the files.
