Just having got a Mac, FC Studio 2 and an MXO I have been having a few issues.

One that keeps occuring in FCP is when I am scrubbing the timeline. Although the output to the MXO is displaying each frame of the video properly, the Canvas window in FCP keeps looping a selected number of frames over and over! What on earth is going on?

It’s a known bug. Mine does the same thing. Press Cmd-F12 twice and it usually goes away. (for a while, at least) Sometimes it doesn’t happen for a while but during the editing of my current project, for instance, it happens all the time and it is very distracting and VERY annoying.

I talked to Matrox about it 4 months or so ago and the tech guy said it apparently is not on the top list of priorities. Which, in my opinion, is another way of saying ‘we don’t know how to fix it’. And yes, I agree, pretty sloppy for a $1000 machine…

I had hoped that with the new firmware the issue was solved.

    Come on, Matrox!

That’s a real shame that they aren’t on top of this. This issue and the way it won’t display aspect corrected SD 16:9 footage, or display SD progressive scan properly is quite annoying, and they NEED to sort it out pronto.

They just need a kick. Perhaps if more people post about it over at the official Matrox support forums.
