FCP – AJ IO HD – AJ-HD1400p – Tri-Level Sync Generator
Trying to figure out the proper workflow to edit to tape from FCP using an AJA IO HD and an AJ-HD1400p deck.
Format is 720p 59.94
Need a simple answer. Is a tri-level sync generator (like a Gen-10) needed? Yes or no.
If not, what is the proper workflow (deck settings, connections, etc.)

Bonus Question:
Would something like a gen-10 possibly help with tape trouble issues during capture?Go slow to hurry up.

You can use regular bi level sync for 720p60 (as it’s 60hz).
For capture, the AJA products reference incoming video so the sync gen is not needed.
