FCP 7.0.3: I moved to Snow Leopard now no Log and Capture
Hi,
OSX 10.6.7, FCP 7.0.3
A JVC SR-DVM700U which had been working fine with the system.
Log and Capture gives me an OK on VTR, but the controls on the capture window don’t work.
Not problem with iMovie.
Everything had been working before for months before I upgraded to Snow Leopard.

and even if I go to the “no control” setting and manually start the PB deck, it starts and rolls and I can see the video on my video monitor, but I get no preview and a note that there is no video.

Got it, I think.
For the next poor soul…with a JVC SR-DVM700U
I did a reset of the JVC by holding the stop button when I started it up. Resetting appears and blinks a while, then it shuts down. I started it again. I also used the “Refresh AV Devices” in FCP>View>external video.

Did you update properly? By that I mean backup all your data… in a perfect world, cloning your working Leopard drive to another drive… erase your hard drive, install the OS fresh, and all the applications fresh?
Or did you just install Snow Leopard on top of your existing software?Shane

Then the install wasn’t done properly, and issues can happen with the pro apps. As you have noticed. YOu need to back up the files, wipe the drive clean, install things fresh.
CLONING is the preferred method, as you retain a backup of your working system. A little to late for you on this, as your system is not working. But, it can retain all of your data, so that when you think you have everything, but a file was hiding, you have it.
