[Todd Kopriva] “Sorry, but can you confirm that you’re running Premiere Pro CS5.5 (5.5.1). “

confirmed. i downloaded it from Adobe.com and installed. when i open Premiere Pro it says “version 5.5.1”

i even exported a fresh XML from FCP 7 to test it and the sequence crashed in Premiere Pro on playback.

thanks for checking on this, Todd. i was hoping the 5.5.1 update would solve my problem.

in other news – apparently FCP X just updated to support XML.

    5.5.1 has fixed my problem
Original files from Sony EX3 – XDCAMEx 1080p25
    Convert to Prores Proxy
9 screen multiclip edit in FCP 7.0.3
    Collapse multiclip
Reconnect to original XDCAM EX 1080p25
Media Manage in FCP to Prores 422 (HQ) (not for better file quality but intend a lot of plug and color processing
    Export a XML
Import into PPro 5.5 – crash as thumbnails are drawn
Update to 5.5.1 – The XML import works perfectly
Test: same procedure as above but export a XML at the Prores Proxy stage
    Works perfectly in 5.5.1
    Good Job.

I used to be Jon Hiseman but I’m feeling better now.

Still have the same issue with 5.5.1

ProRes crashes when I try to playback after XML import. I did notice that Premiere is changing the edit mode of my sequence from ProRes to XDCAM.

Meaning, I import a ProRes XML, look at the sequence settings of the imported sequence in premiere, the editing mode now says XDCAM.

If I take one of the imported prores clips and do a “create sequence from clip” it creates an AJA HD sequence.

    WTF
