  FCP 7 Voice Over Tool with no audio monitoring?

  Hi,
  Running FCP 7 on 10.8.2 and can record audio on my macbook pro via a USB Rode Podcaster no problem.
  I have my system pref settings correct but lately the mic will not monitor the audio during recording and only give it to me after recording is complete on playback.
  If anyone has experienced this I could sure do with being put out of my misery.
