    Hi,

I need to send my FCP 7 sequence to an AVID editor for offline. He only wants audio (using QT for ref video). I believe I need to use Automatic duck.
Do I send OMF or AAF? He needs the media and sequence info.
OMF for audio workstations seems to be the only way to embed.
Is there a way to send audio only?

    Thanks for any help.

Ask if OMF is OK. If not and they want AAF then you can download Automatic Duck software which is now free –

I’d go for aaf. Embedding is an option for aaf so you might need to dig into the settings to enable it.

omf is an older format with some limitations, such as file size, so although it should be fine for transferring media between NLEs, in practice it’s always a bit fussy and the newer format is just… well… better!

    HI,

They have asked for OMF with audio and video. But in A.Duck the OMF export says composition only which means no media right?
