I checked with Matrox to see if the MX02 would pass TC embedded in the SDI stream to a 1760 monitor. The answer was yes. What I don’t know is if FCP actually passes that TC signal along to the MX02. It’s not a biggie but I would like to see my TC on the FSI monitor. None of the TC settings on the monitor work (LTC, VITC1 or VITC2).

    Any ideas?

    Hi lee,
I think that’s not possible because a limitation of FC.
If I’m not wrong, the only way to get the TC out of FC is through RS-422.

I think Rafael is correct. I don’t believe FCP can embed TC in an SDI stream.

I had the same situation a while ago…and I believe rafeal is right. It’s a limitaion of fcp. I believe I’ve tested it since with Sdi from my camera and gotten it to work.

I have the MXO2 and 1760 also. While the TC display works fine with decks I have never gotten to work with FCP. If you use the cross hatch you can see the vitc on tape playback but FCP (or quicktime) strips all that stuff off.
