  • FCP 7 running slow (Spinning Beach Ball of Death) after FCP X uninstall… ?

    Aloha!

Unfortunately, I installed FCP X, and I thought well I’ll put it on my system and learn it at some point in the future.

    UGH!

My current set up with FCP 7 was humming and I had everything dialed in. Anyway, I uninstalled it with FCS Remover and reinstalled FCP 7, but it still is giving me an issue.

    Issue:

Every time I go do anything ie play a clip, or mark an in point the computer stalls and gives me the spinning beach ball of death before it initiates the command.

    My System:
    2012 iMac 21″ – late 2012 the thin one
    OSX 10.8.3
    31. GHz Intel Core i7
    16GB 1600 MHz DDR3.5

I’d been using FCP 7 on this system for about 6 months and it was humming! Awesome..now I can’t get it to work the same, and I feel it was the FCP X debacle install and uninstall.

    Try using “Preference Manager”:

When FCP 7 starts to act up, I always run this. There are a few other things you can run to ensure FCP is healthy, check out this site, lots of great tools.
