I have been working on a 4 camera edit on FCP 7. I could’t use multicam because it was a mixture of XDCAM EX and HDV Z1; different frame sizes which multicam won’t accept (even though the lowly Adobe CS4 will).
So I created a 4 way split using motion and sunk everything up manually. The timeline played the split realtime but showed green render bar.
I then had to go to another edit room to do a job (Avid) and came back 4 hours later and found that auto render had done its thing so I thought BONUS, no more green render bar!

So I edited away for a few hours and then came upon a shot that needed a slight colorgrade. I opened up the scopes and did the tweek on the shot and when finished I noticed the ‘uncut’ (4 way split section) had gone to RED render bar and would only play as ‘unrendered’ red screen.
So I turned off the scopes knowing they affect playback and still had the red render bar. So now I couldn’t playback the 4 way split at all.
I recreated the split again using the original files and this time the timeline showed no rendering required.
Is this my punishment for not waiting until someone else beta tested FCP 7 than doing it myself?

What would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!
