[FCP 7] How Transf and Log for .MTS (AVCHD) from Panasonic 151

    Hallo to everybody,
I’ve putted in my HD some .mts video files from Panasonic 151 but when I Open FCP 7 and try to Transf & Log these files, FCP 7 tell me that this operation is not possible or better, I’Cannot import in Drag & Drop window or directly from my Folder in HD.
I remember that this operation was possible if I imported directly from SDHC Card…
Therefore, how can I Trasf & Log these files from HD and NOT FROM SDHC Card?

You cannot use log and transfer without the whole folder structure. If you only have the ,mts files you ned ClipWrap to transcode the media to one of the ProRes codecs.

    All the best,

All of them. You back up the entire SD card.

Uhm, Ted, ok but ther’re problems, I think…
How can I organize these (PRIVATE) folders in my HD.. are all with the same names…
and, when I shoot for many days, with the same SDHC card, I ‘ll find many .mts fils from many different, projects… how can these files organize if I can’t rename or touch PRIVATE Folder from SSDHC card?

You make a folder called Reel 1. You copy everything from the card into it. You copy the folder onto a another drive for protection. You erase the card in the camera. You shoot some more. You make another folder called Reel 2. You copy the contents of the card into that folder. You copy the folder onto the backup drive. You erase the card in the camera. You shoot some more. You make another folder called Reel 3. And so it goes.

This is really basic stuff, described in many resources.

    All the best,

    Tom
