fcp 6.0.1 interlace playback over firewire deck
I have a brand new Mac Pro with Dual Quad 3.0ghz and 9 Gigs/ram.
Upon installing FCP 6 and updating 6.0.1 I opened a project that was previously worked on in FCP 5.1.4. The project was shot on 35mm, transferred to normal DV NTSC 29.97 for working on and was captured at that setting, our sequence is at that setting. We are doing our own conform and cutting the neg ourselves so we’re not worried about the 29 vs 24 issue.
The thing I’m running into now is that we have out system routed through a dsr-11 to a huge crt monitor, but the monitor seems to really show the interlaced frames and also the motion is jittery. This wasn’t an issue before we updated and moved machines, and I’ve tried changed the sequence field dominance to ‘none’, ‘upper’ and ‘ lower’ but none of them fix the problem on playback. The computer monitor shows up fine (as expected) but I was wondering if this is something having to do with FCP’s new support of multi-format sequence working.
Is it maybe a pull down issue? that doesn’t seem to react and I’ve also trashed my preferences already.
If anybody has any clue, please let me know.
Thanks,
