FCP 6 > Encoder >DVD > 50″ TV or 36″ TV
After editing a SD-DV format sequence (CC with COLOR) in FCP6, and then using either EPISODE or Compressor 3 to encode to MPEG-2…and then burning to DVD…I still see the video as bleached out…too bright…especially on a 50″ projector-type TV! However, on a CRT-type, 36″ TV set…the same encoded footage is closer to where it should be (meaning “not too much bleached out”).
QUESTION: Should I CC to the smaller set’s interpretation of “color”…or CC to the larger set’s interpretation of the color space? This would mean, of course, that if I CC to the larger set…I would bring the BLACKS down lower in order to CC to the projector-type TV, instead of using the smaller set as my “guide” to CC.
Thank you in advance of your comments!
