  FCP 5.04 / OX 10.4.5 long time to open files

  Hey All,

  Lately I’ve been experiencing problems with FCP 5.04. I’m running a blackmagic Card a Decklink Pro and have downloaded all the latest software/drivers etc

  I was having problems all of a sudden in 10.4.3 which had been really stable then all of a sudden I started get lots of spinning beach balls, time outs etc and was forced to ‘force quit’ several times. So then I updated from 10.4.3 to 10.4.5, repaired permissions, trashed prefs and caches etc

  Whats happening is the App starts up all good, but when I then go to open a file it takes about 30sec for the open file window to pop up so that I can choose the approprite file. I run a pretty clean system generally speaking a System drive for Apps, a 250G drive for DV stuff, docs etc and a RAID with 4 X Seagate 147Gb 10K Cheetahs and a UL3D.

  Was wondering if anyone else is having this problem, or can shed any light on whats happening?

  2 X SEAGATE 10K 136 GIG SCSI Drives Software RAID
  Final Cut Studio, AE 6.5, Adobe Creative Suite etc
