What OS are you using?, what BM drivers are you using?, what capture preset are you using?, what machine are you capturing from? We need details if you want help!

I think it may be a problem with the FX1 and FCP5, although it works fine with our FX1 other users are reporting the same problem. I’m not sure why ours works, but we are using a clean install of Tiger as the OS so that may help.

I have been trying to hold off on Tiger…. I was excited when i read that i could upgrade w/o upgrading to tiger but here is the first bite! Now, if i hit “Now” it does capture the footage but never shows anything on the preview (monitor).

Note- the footage looks amazing out of the BMD Extreme downconverted and ported out to a Sharp Aquos and a Sony 13 studio monitor at 16X9

    Thanks,
    Prio

this was a post i made a few days back – this is an issue in 10.3.9 and Tiger!!!!!!!!!!

    hi all

just started tinkering with FCP5 and some 1080i60 HDV footage

all seems promising, except for not having any video appear in the log and capture window

now, from a post over in the HDV forum i discovered that this is not a bug!!!!!!!!

    This is from Apple’s “late-breaking FCP 5 issues” doc…

    *****

HDV Log and Capture Preview Is Disabled When a PCI Graphics Card Is Installed

If your computer has a PCI graphics card installed and you are logging or capturing HDV footage, Final Cut Pro does not preview video or audio in the Log and Capture window. You can still log and capture, but you need to use your HDV camcorder display to preview video.

first off, why on earth would they do this?????????????????

second, can anyone with a kona 2 confirm this ‘feature’ on their rigs, i have a decklink HD Pro in mine

    i’m running FCP5, MAC OS 10.3.9, BM 5.0b1 drivers, QT7

    cheers
