FCP, 50 frames a sec.
Hi guys,
I have a little question. I’ve been using FCP for year now and always used video at a speed of 25 frames a sec.Now, I have the following problem.
I play world of warcraft sometimes and I started fooling around with the build-in video capture software. I captured some video.Stats of the video.
Structure : Apple Intermediate Codec, 800 x 500
FPS : 50,04Importing this video into FCP is a no go. It gives an error. So what do i do. I export it to dv-pal and voila, good to go. Now my question is this. What codec and what setting do I need to use so I can keep the 50 fps?
The plan is to import it into FCP and play it at a rate of 25 fps. Result = slow motion.
I’m not sure how to do that.

You could try importing it into Motion. That might help put you in the right direction. Then export it at ProRes at an SD resolution at 50fps.
For slow motion, you can open it in CinemaTools and then conform it to 25 fps. It will mess up the audio, but is a really easy way to do what you’re looking at and doesn’t create or interpolate and information keeping image quality exactly at what you had.
