FCP 5 wont start
Hi all. My FCP 5 has been working fine until now. I started my mac (powermac G5)and now when I try to launch FCP it shows the white load up screen and then just disappears as if I’d never opened it!! Any thoughts anyone??? It is a retail version, I’ve tried reinstalling it and nothing has changed. This is really frustrating, it just stopped working overnight. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP??

Try trashing your preference files.
If you are not sure how to do that do a quick search of the forums, and there will be a plenty of threads about how to do it.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

Thanks very much for this! It was my user preferences. Some how they got corrupted (all I did was shut down!). So I put another profile that was already existing on my Mac into the Shared user folder and things were (just about) ok. I just had to move a few files around but luckily nothing was lost and everything works again, for now at least. Thanks very much!
