Has anyone had problems like this. I’ve got an external lacie firewire hooked up to the tower…and only in one project there’s a kernel panic that of course shuts down the whole computer. On top of that I’ve tried every version of logging and capturing available and still get timecode breaks. The deck I’m using to log and capture is a GL2, but the footage was shot on the Panasonic DVX 100a. I’ve never had so many problems using either of these products. I’m logging everything in an offline format…and it’s really turning into a nightmare…not to mention making me look bad. Any suggestions to any of these problems. Once again 1. Timecode breaks that happen continously…and it’s skipping seconds. 2. Kernel Panic on one project and one project only. ANY help would be apprceiated and is very much needed.

Thanks soo much for the help.

the problem with TC breaks is very likely exactly that … see if can get another camera/deck and dub the bad tape over to a new one.

regarding the corrupted project file … do you have anything in the auto-save vault that you could use?

    cheers

I think it’s FCP 5. Tonight, I started all over after two months of General Errors. Timecode breaks, kernel crashes…with the 4.5 even though my deadline is coming up I’ll actually save time working on a program that actually gets the job done. So far, all of the logging has been fine same deck, different comp. I don’t know if was an FCP5 tiger combo…or what…but now that it’s working I’m just going to stick with the older version. Seems like it’s having less problems. It’s just really wack that’s for sure. Arrrggghhh!!!! But thanks for the reply.
