I just updated my G5 (dual 2 GHz, 2 gigs RAM) to Tiger. After I did, I kept running Software Update until it didn’t find anything more. I’m running Final Cut Pro 4.5 and I use an NTSC Sony DSR-11.

Final Cut Pro is not recognizing the deck. I confirmed that all FireWire cables are appropriately connected. System Profiler recognizes that there is a DSR-11 on the FireWire bus. And I’ve tried switching the Easy Setup to DV-NTSC and DV-NTSC FireWire Basic. In neither case am I able to make Final Cut Pro recognize that it has a deck connected to it.

    Any thoughts?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

About 40 minutes after you posted your reply, I started the Edit To Tape I’d been trying to do all day. It seemed fine getting started, but I had to leave the office right after that. We’ll see tomorrow morning how successful it indeed was… but I feel good about my odds. Thanks for the response!
