FC 6.0.2 on Quad-MAC Pro
Hi
My problem is: I installed FC 6.0.2 on my 2×2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon. Installation went fine, but Rendering Effects is incredibly slow. For example: it will take 29 min. to render a simple fade (4 sec.) from one clip to another.
Does anybody has a hint? I just don’t know where to look at, prefs, system presets or anything… Or is this Version simply not useable on an Intel-MAC?
This is my first thread here in that forum, hope I did it right…

How much ram do you have? That seems like an incredible long time.

Even with bare minimum ram it shouldn’t take that long to render one transition….Are you sure you’re not rendering the whole timeline?
A couple things you could look at are the sequence settings render control (right click on the sequence in the bin to change current settings). make sure the render control codec is set for ‘Same as Sequence”. Also, make sure the disk set to recieve your render files is not the same as your system drive. Last, under file===>system settings=====>Memory & Cache, make sure Memory Usage for Application is set for 100%.

The hints with changing the workspace-disc were absolutely magnificent. Rendering is now bosted up a lot, and I also checked the other settings. Should be written on the box, in big letters. Guess I’m able to work now properly thanks to your help.
