This may have been asked before, and I hate to repeat questions, but I am looking for what my fellow Vegas + DVD Arch users like to use as a DVD media. I recent switched to Philips 16x, and everything seems great, until it tests out on an X-box. I usually test clients discs on two machines just to make sure that it works. Everything is fine on my panasonic, but on the X-box it get streams of pixilation that come and go. So I attribute that to the disc not being to friend with older players. So… what is everyone else using? I would love to know.

    Thanks,

    Neal Barlow

I’ve been using Verbatim printables for a few years now and have nothing but the best of luck with them (unless I screw up). They seem to play in just about any machine but then I burn at 2X. I’d rather take a bit longer to burn them and know that they’ll play.

I have used Taiyo Yuden ink jet printable DVD-Rs for a few years, now. Very good and consistant discs. I get them on-line from Supermediastore.com. One of my burners does best at 2X speed, while the other does best at 4X.

I have been using the cheap ProDisc inkjet printable discs from CD-DVD-Supplies.com for 3 years. Have probably used at least 1500 of them and have had great luck with them but like others have said…I burn at 2X. IMHO burning any disk at maximum speed greatly increases the probability of errors.

I have done some research and testing to find what I consider the best solution for blank DVD. I have been using Verbatim DVDs for several years now and have never burned a coaster or found a problem with any DVD player reading them. I started with 8x and then moved up to 16x. I always burn at the maximum speed because it
