  • Faster to convert to prores prior to editing or export from original

Hi group, I’m trying to understand what is the most effective method to edit in Premiere Pro.

    1. I shot a corporate video on a Sony HD camera shooting AVCHD 1080i and a Canon XF100 in MXF 1080P; I am exporting the previous video project on another machine using the Stock AVCHD 1080i and exporting via PP to Quicktime XDCam 35mb/s vbr in HD. I used fast color, un sharpen mask, and the shadow/highlight filters. The estimated export time for the 2.20 min project is 81 hours; I am currently outputting the project in pieces as I have to move this computer in 24 hours.

    2. I have two more videos to edit and output and wonder if it might be quicker to create a Prores file from the original and then output with the same filters as above.
Hoping one of you might have more knowledge and would not mind sharing with the forum about my concept.

    Thank you, David
