I am using FastCoder to compress my Quicktime movie the MPEG 2. Yet, everytime I want to play the finished MPEG 2 movie, a Quicktime Player error message advises me that the movie couldn’t be opend. When I take the file to my PC using Media or Real player, the movie plays just fine. Any suggestion how I can rectify the problem? I received one response asking questions without offering a solution. I answered questions but I didn’t get a reply.
Please help. ( I am using QT Pro and it refuses to play whether I am in the emuxed or muxed mode).
    Thanks a bunch.

You probably don’t have the mpeg 2 component for QT installed. You can either buy if from Apple, or you can look up the free VLC player on versiontracker.com & use that.

I answered with more questions that you didn’t answer. Namely, can you see other MPEG-2 movies created in compressor? If yes, then there’s something wrong with what FastCoder is doing, if no, then do what Arniepix says.

Thanks for helping. I never did any work with the compressor (I just started working with FCP). I understood that the FastCoder was easier and faster and used it. That’s why I couldn’t answer your quesion.
    Again, thanks for response.
