    Hi all,

I am trying to do this zoom effect where, for example, there’s a camera really high, almost out in space, and zooms in a building in the middle of a city, very fast.

I’m sure most of you have seen effects similar on tv shows, movies, etc. The footage I’m working with is computer generated, so I can set up the right angles, etc. I can make the camera move to where I want and speed up the footage in Vegas, but I can’t get the blurry edges(like a real camera zooming fast) part right. I tried using the default radial blur with different setings but it didn’t look good.

Is there a better radial blur plug-in? Or does anyone know another way to do this effect?

    Thanks!

Hit Ctrl/Shift/B to show the Master Video Track, then right-click on it to insert a motion blur envelope, which you can adjust where it’s needed.

    Hi Gary,

Thank you! That did it. Looks much better and smoothier. I should’ve added that I’m new to Vegas, still learning it. Thanks again.

Hey, that’s a pretty cool tip. I never knew about that.
