I have been givern a rendered movie which is a camera move on a group of objects.
is there a plugin / way that to create fake reflections?

flipping the comp over isn’t going to work because of the 3d move.

I don’t have access to the maya scene so cant get a reflection pass, its going to have to be done in post.

Does anyone know any tricks or is it going to be tracking and lots of masks for me:-0

    cheers

    Hi Jim –

I have a suggestion, and it’s right in your back yard. The Foundry makes a plugin for After Effects called Camera Tracker for AE:

    https://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/cameratracker/

If you’ve got a decent ground plane with your objects, you have a good chance of pulling a very nice track, which you can then (the nightmare part) use to add the reflections in, which will of course need to move with the motion of the camera. You can test it out for 15 days and get a good handle on it by religiously studying the large number of tutorials on the site. The track part is fairly easy, given a good source for the track. Good luck!
