Fair price for Vegas Pro 8 license?

Absolutely! Sony doesn’t care if you sell it or give it away for free. Either way you are transferring a license that you own to someone else. Now they own that license but they just won’t be able to upgrade.

BTW, that is *extremely* generous of Sony. Many software manufacturers won’t allow you to sell old copies and consider the old copy to still be a contingency on owning the new copy. In fact, companies like Cakewalk won’t even allow you to sell your existing copy! If you no longer need it, it’s a worthless piece of junk. So kudos to Sony for their liberal licensing policy.

Absolutely they would.
Just make sure to let Sony know that the license has been transferred to someone else.
I vaguely remember reading that other folks have used upgraded to newer versions even though they’re not supposed to be able to.
