    Hi Everyone,
    Simple problem…
I need to fade up objects that have sketch and toon materials applied.

The normal way I fade objects up is to use a display tag and animate the visibility percentage. This works fine for normal materials.

But when a sketch material is applied it doesn’t fade – justs pops on at the keyframe.

The way I am doing it currently is to animate the opacity of all my materials, but in terms of workflow this is a nightmare way to do it i.e. lots of materials and lots of separate animations. So if i decide to change one element…all elements have to be changed.

Is there a better way to do it?

    Thanks chaps.

I don’t know if it’s a *better* way, but another way would be to render a sketch/poste effects pass and use object buffers to split up the objects and fade them in/out in post … but that might be a bigger PITA than what you’re doing now.

Another option would be to use Xpresso to drive the opacity of multiple materials with the opacity of one material.

    Thanks Adam,

Both of these are really good ways. I was thinking xpresso could have been the solution, then maybe a HUD slider for ultimate ease of access.

    Thanks for your help.
