Fade from very old film to full color
I had along clip which I wished to start out in with the very old film F/X applied & then have the the picture fade back to full color. The clip starts OK but never gets back to being fully normal. The color can return & then flickering disappears but no matter what I do I’m always left with vertical streaks down the picture even when I have all of the settings set back to zero.

Not sure what’s causing your problem, but a simple way to do this is to crossfade two versions (one with FX, one without) of the video with each other.

I tried doing this my crossfade but found that when I dragged the right hand clip over the left that the right hand clip always 100% replaced the left. This gave me the impression that the 2 clips were directly one over the other & as a result I got no crossfade. I presume that if I don’t drag the right hand clip all the way on top of the left there will be a jump from one frame to another one, other than what was intended.

Since you didn’t get the crossfade, you might check to see if “Automatic Crossfades” is turned on.
However, back to the method you originally described, you may check the last keyframe and make sure the scratches are turned off at that point. Also, what version of Vegas are you using? You might consider updating to the most current version.
