    Im not clear what you mean, but right click on the
    preview window and make sure
    Adjust size and quality for optimal playback is not selected.

    Transitions take a lot more processing power to preview compared to straight video sections of your project. That’s because Vegas is decoding 2 video streams and doing blending or other effects (blur, distort etc depending on the transition type) on the 2 decoded video streams. The amount of work that needs to be done depends on the preview quality setting.

    You may see some stuttering or jerky playback the first time you preview a transition. Try t o play the transition a few times and it will get smoother as Vegas caches more of the rendered transition frames.
