    Hi All,
I have an Australian cooking series in that is top to tail product placement. I was wondering if anyone knows of a plug in that tracks the blur on the FCP timeline. I’ve looked at Lyca (which seems to have a data retention issue) and Moca (the process of which is way over the top for blurring)

I am well versed in using mask shape and 4/8 point garbage matt, also with doing it in Motion. It’s just that it is in reality between 60% and 80% of the programme duration and I have 200 episodes to fix. Also the camera is mostly on the move. I must have created some bad Karma 🙁

I would do this in After Effects or Davinci Resolve.

Get a very good motion tracker to track the points and then apply a blur mask / node to that particular area.

This is not a job that FCP is well suited for, compositing tool is what you need. I mention Resolve because it has the best motion tracker I’ve ever used.

Avid is pretty good for this too, even without tracking the paint tool is easy to key-frame and can be made to blur or mosaic.
    Matt.
