I’m pretty new to C4D, and am trying to extrude an outline of a world map traced in illustrator. Works fine of the most part, however I have an odd glitch in the cap of the Extrude on the coast of Korea.

See this pic for a snapshot of my interface, with the glitch circled:

I hope that’s clear enough. The extrude is fine, but the caps don’t follow the path correctly – it seems to cut off two of the bends.

Any ideas on what is going on? Thoughts on how to correct this?
    I’m using v10.0 on a Mac G5.

    Thanks!

    Hey Scott –

Just quickly looking at it, it seems like your bezier in those areas are doing a loop da loop…technical term. Might be causing some weirdness.

Try making sure the beziers don’t cross over each other. Again hard to tell from the image, but that’s what it looks like.

    Hope it helps.

    Aha! Spot on!
Not a loop exactly, but one of the points had the handles crossing over in the “v” of each bend! Selected the points in question and used “soft interpolation” and it vanished.
    Thanks!
