    Hi dear community,

Herer is the short version of my question:

I want to do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NIICVIZd50
with an old map, but can not extrude the part of the map i cut out in Photoshop in After effects.

Maybe you can help me with my problem:

I have a map with land and ocean on it. I want the land to be extruded, so on higher level than the ocean and with a stroke around it.
    I already tried this way:

-Cut out the land in Photoshop
    -Import it into Illustrator-save
-Import into After Effects with Ray traced 3d
-set the Bevel in Geometrie options – i just got a grey box

I guess the first two steps are ok, but i need help with the next step after these, as After effect will not take over the AI layers correctly:

-Cut out the land in Photoshop
    -Import directly into After Effects

and now i need to take over exactly the shape of the land that i cut out in Photoshop on a shape layer. So for example, a shape layer needs to be the exact form of the Photoshop layer of Italy i cut out.

It should be looking like this:

    (around 20 sec.)

Any ideas, how to do that? Or maybe there is an easier way?

    Thanks!
