External Video set to OFF and i can’t change it !!!
Hi, I am trying to capture a tape on my Sony XHA1 and it keeps saying ‘CAN’T INITIALIZE VIDEO DECK’. From browsing other forums apparently i need to have ‘ALL FRAMES’ selected but i can’t change it from ‘OFF’….’ALL FRAMES and SINGLE’ are black (not grey). I have no idea why i can’t select ALL FRAMES. I’ve captured loads of tapes in the past and have never come accross this….
any help will be very much appreciated.

As a matter of practice, before I switch to all frames (it gets shut off semi-randomly, it seems) always refresh a/v devices first. That’ll make the computer shake hands with the playback device so they’re speaking the same language. I’ve added a button on the timeline to do this in one click.
