  • External video monitor on an iMac G5

    Hi!

I recently purchased an iMac G5 running FCP5 to replace my PC running Avid. On my old PC I had an external video monitor connected to my Matrox video card (via composite – but it looked great) which worked great.

I would like the same on my iMac. How can I connect a video monitor, or is that only possible on the PowerMacs with e.g. a Decklink card?

Is there a firewire interface that I can get or something or what are my options?

    Best regards, Rasmus Nielsen.

Just connect your DV camera or deck to the iMac, then use firewire as the external video monitoring path. Then take the analog outs from your deck/camera to a monitor. Or you can use an advc-110 from Canopus and monitor DV externally that way.

    Jerry,

What can we expect from the Apple DVI to S-Video adapter?
