External monitor flickers white screen, looses audio
Hey, I’m new to Final Cut after many years on the Media 100 and am wondering if anyone has experienced this and could possible help me out. I have a G5 running FCP5 and have the firewire out hooked to a DSR-11. The DSR-11 output is run to a monitor. Everything starts fine, but after a couple minutes I get blocky dropouts and then the screen starts flickering white. At the same time the audio no longer routes through. At first “refresh AV Devices” corrects the problem, but it comes back within 30 seconds or so. Any ideas what’s causing it? It’s driving me crazy!

In addition, I’m finding when I try to capture video in the log and capture window, I can control the deck and the timecode reads through, but when I hit the capture button I get a “no video” error. I’ve tried a different Firewire cable and that does not help. I’m going to bring another deck home from work and try that tonight to eliminate the deck as a possibility. Any ideas?
