  External Drive for Windows 10 and software?

  Hello!

  Hope this is the right forum for this post. I have a 2015 MBP and I am wondering if I can install Windows 10 on an external drive of some sort. It would be great if the drive was Thunderbolt to get the speed boost compared to USB.

  I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this? I would also like to install all the software etc onto this external drive thereby keeping my internal drive space from filling up.

  I use Autodesk Maya and the Adobe Suite of products the most and was wondering if there is a speed hit when using the software if its on an external drive. I am figuring an external SSD would be the best bet.

  I would greatly appreciate any info, suggestions, etc!
