    I have tried mounting a external harddrive to see if it was something mre then just software and it seems to be the case. Bought a new PCI Firewire card and it is still not communicating with FCP or allowing me to mount a hard drive on my cpu. The computer does seem to read my new firewire card but to no avail can i talk to my deck.

    Sure the drive’s not the problem? Open Disk Utilities in the Utilites folder found in your applications folder, see if it sees the drive…

    The drive passed the disk utilities test and it seems to be fine… ?
