  • Extend left and right side of transition together?

Posted by Diana Gualda on November 13, 2014 at 10:43 pm

Hi, this has to be a very basic thing, but I can’t figure it out. Is there a way to extend or shorten both the left and right ends of a transition simultaneously? It seems an awful waste of time to have to drag each end individually when I just need the overall length of it to evenly extend. I used to do this in FCP all the time.

In 2014.1 if you drag on one side it extends both sides. If you’re not getting this just double click on the transition and it will open up duration dialogue box. As far as aligning it you can just drag the transition however you want over the cut. No more “Start/End/Center on Cut”.

Paul, what do you mean “2014?” CS6? I’m in CS6 and dragging one side only extends the one side. Can double click, but clicking and typing an amount still seems like just as much fuss as dragging both ends individually.

    CC 2014.1

    Big improvements since CS6.
