Exruding 2d objects in the 3d space…
Posted by Graber on January 29, 2007 at 9:56 pmI have created a 2.5D world, with 2d objects flying around in a 3d space… I was wondering if there was a plugin that i could add that would extrude the 2d objects into 3d objects so i dont have to reanimate in a 3d program.
Thanks

January 29, 2007 at 11:05 pmHere is a plugin, 3D Layer:

Here’s an earlier post for adding Z-depth with multiple layers via an expression, see 2):

Also this is true AE 3D so you can fly the camera, also if you want to try a different offset for the spacing between layers, highlight the “1” at the end of the expression and pickwhip it to a Slider, then dup the layers, then it’s very adjustable. This same methods is used in this tut only without the expression, he offsets the layers manually 3 pixels:

Here’s a tut by Roland using Shatter:

Here’s an earlier post with ball action, just do it without the twist:

January 30, 2007 at 2:36 pmHaven’t d/loaded all the relevant demos yet…but in the opinion of anyone who’s used both; are you better off getting Zaxwerks Pro Animator to work with AE, or the Digital Anarchy 3D pack?
I mean, I know one is a 3D app (of sorts) and the other is a plugin for what is essentially a 2D app (AE) but which works the most seamlessly with AE?
Any thoughts appreciated.
