Expressions for limited moving for a layer just in Y ?
hi everybody
i am going to create a rain of flowers in AE…i want animate flower layer in Y direction without keyframe..it must comes from Top of frame and go bottom…like rain
As well i want copy many of them. and my camera(with depth of the field) passes between them…check this

In its simplest form, you can use this expression for the position:
pos = transform.position;
pos_y = pos[1]+ time*100;
new_pos = [pos[0], pos_y, pos[2]]Now, that will make all the layers move down at the same exact speed.
For some variance, you can add a different random speed for every layer like so:
seedRandom(index,true);
spd = 75+random(50);
pos = transform.position;
pos_y = pos[1]+ time*spd;
new_pos = [pos[0], pos_y, pos[2]]
