I have had an HVX-200 for the last year and the camera has worked great…until recently. Whenever I turn the camera on, the exposure automatically goes to f11 and it seems to oftentimes have a mind of its own. It always seems to want to go back to f11, however. When I try to adjust the exposure, it lags for 1-2 seconds before changing and sometimes won’t let me use the full range of f stops I know are available.

Can anyone help me with this problem? I figure it must be some sort of setting, but I haven’t really changed settings since this problem started to occur. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like time to take it to the camera doctor…

You might want to make sure the switch labeled AUTO/MANUAL on the bottom of the camera body below the LCD is on the MANUAL position. Then locate the iris button near the barrel of the lens. Press this until it displays manual iris on the LCD. If this does not solve the problem it might be time for the repair shop.
