Exporting whole project in Premiere Pro CS4
Posted by Chris Moore on September 27, 2009 at 7:49 amIn Premiere Pro 1.5 it was possible to export a project as an AVI file by going to “export then movie”. I can’t see how to do it in CS4. Export goes to media, but that seems to export a clip not the whole project. Can someone please tell me how to export an entire project as an AVI.

In CS4 it should bring the Adobe Media Encoder (AME) up when you select export, is that not happening? When AME comes up you will have tons of options including AVI format. It will also show how much of the project will be exported (Lower Left side of screen displays moveable slidebars of project).
If AME does not pop up then I’m not sure whats going on. I hated AME when I first started using CS4 but now I can’t imagin not having it.

September 27, 2009 at 10:03 pmYou need to make sure the timeline has the orange highlight around it, then go to File>Export>Media…
That will export the highlighted timeline (edited project).
What may have been happening is a clip was selected in the project panel or the source monitor was highlighted when going to export which would have exported just the highlighted/selected clip and not the timeline.

April 12, 2010 at 3:21 pmJon,
I am new using Premiere CS4, used before earlier version, never had any problem exporting the project as an AVI file.
I get the AME after trying to export the project, but it doesn’t start the process!
In the source name appears C:\users|Application dta\local\temp\ …..project name\sequence 01,
But in my C:\ there is no “Application Data” and the rest!!!
I assume that AME is looking there for the project, not finding it, can not perform the encoding.
Can you help me to find out what is wrong?
I never had any problem exporting with the Premier pro earlier versions
Thanks for your help
Dov
