Exporting Video file to 16 bit audio
I’m trying to export a film and make sure the audio is 16 bit. I changed the audio export settings to 16 bit (kbps) from the original 192 bit rate premiere suggested and it sounds horrible. I then converted all audio files in my project in Audition to 16 bit (and it sounds good) but when I go to export it still says its 192 or 320. So I lower it back to 16 and it kills the sound again. Even when I import 16 bit sound its the same issue. I think I’m missing a conversion somewhere.

You are actually adjusting the bitrate and not the bit depth of the audio which sounds terrible if you are only giving it 16 kbps to work with.
I’m not sure if compressed audio formats even have a setting for bit depth. You should probably export the audio as uncompressed PCM WAV.
