Exporting Vegas Pro 10 to DVD Architect Pro 5.0?
Posted by Hideaki Ogiwara on April 30, 2011 at 8:21 pmI am wondering how I can exporting all my vegas session to DVD Architect Pro 5.0. I’m using Vegas Pro 10, but I can’t find any bottoms or something for exporting into DVD Architect Pro 5.0…
I just thought Vegas Movie Studio HD is much easier to make DVD than using Pro 10….Please tell me how to exporting into DVD Architect Pro 5.0 from Vegas Pro 10’s session.

There is no button in Vegas Pro like Movie Studio. You must go to File | Render As… and select the Main Concept MPEG-2 render type and use one of the “DVD Architect” templates. If your project is widescreen, the DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream template is your best choice. Then you have to render the audio separately using Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro and the Stereo DVD template, unless your project is 5.1 Surround, the use that template.
If you give the video file and audio file the same name (only with different .mpg/.ac3 extensions) and DVD Architect will know that they go together and treat them as one file. Just drop the video file onto the DVD Architect menu and it will load the audio along with it.

May 1, 2011 at 5:39 pmThank you very much! Now, I can export into DVDA from Vegas with my Chapter Mark.
But here is another problem to burn. My data is 1h 50m and with top menu page it’s about 5.3 G so I couldn’t burn to DVD….Is this easy way to compress and burn the DVD which is only 4.7 G….
Thank you very much.

If you render to an AVI file, DVD Architect will calculate the bit-rate for you and fit it all onto one DVD.
Alternately you could use a bitrate calculator to figure out the bitrate needed to fit 1h 50m onto a DVD. Just Google “bitrate calculator”. You’ll find that the average bitrate should be around 5,300,000bps.

There is no simple “make movie” button in the Pro version. You can use Tools | Burn Disc | DVD… to burn a DVD from the timeline without menus (like a big VHS tape on disc).
If you need menus, then you have to use File | Render As… and select MainConcept MPEG2 for your video and after rendering that select Dolby Digital AC-3 for your audio. Then take those two files into DVD Architect to create your DVD.
