I’ve finished editing a promo video for a upcoming convention in a non standard resolution (3800 X 600 for a 3 screen projection mapping) The event company has requested for a H264 copy as deliverables and they will probably playback on a computer. I would like to know what’s the best H264 encoding setting I should use to prevent any playback problem like stuttering.
I’ve asked the event company many times for the delivery specs but they hasn’t been very forthcoming.

One other question, I’m unable to export to H264 on Premiere CC with more than 2K resolution. Exporting to Prores and other codec doesn’t seem to have a problem with my 3800 X 600 resolution.

set media encoder for h.264 on the left part of the screen then to
the right of it choose an h.264 preset that most closely matches.

    maybe try vimeo hd.

then go into that to change the settings, change to profile 5.1
If its on 3 I think it limits the resolution it can be. I do know in mpeg2
encoding there are only certain sizes it will do.

A video that size might need to have a maximum vbr bitrate of 10mbps or 15mbps
in order to look good. But try it at 5mbps first and see how it goes.
The lower the bit-rate, the less likely to stutter, especially on older computers.
