I need to export a still, open it in photoshop, make a mask from it, then import the mask into FC and use it for color correction purposes. I am exporting the still through the Export/Using Quicktime Conversion method. What format should I select in the Export Image Sequence Settings dialogue box?

    Thanks.

How do PNG and TIFFs differ?

    Hi Victoria,
The two formats are call bit-map. Basically is the RGB information of each individual pixel and the position of the pixel.
I really don’t know the difference between the two formats, but are two different ways to pack the same thing. PNG is one of the first graphic formats to be developed, so probably TIFF have some advantages (metadatas, profiles, color managing?), but as I tell you no difference in the picture quality. You can convert PNG to TIFF back and forward without any loose. To do your job you can use TGA too.
